    Default B18 rebuild

Well, my buddy is in the process of rebuilding his b18 ls. He wants to go all motor and high compression and no vtec. I dont know much about hondas so we need some help. Pretty much, what should we do? What piston and rod combo is the best? What bore should we go to? Will we need cams or anything else to run high compression? ANd where should we bore and hone the block? Sorry for all the questions but dont know a damn thing about hondas. Thanks

    b18b or b20 block sleeved 85.5mm
    crower stroker kit (2.2liter)
    12.5 or so compression pistons
    itr oil pump
a GOOD CNC ported head with valvetrain
L21 series cams by Rocket Motorsports www.m24x.com
(call Rocket and ask him to build a custom lift and duration)
    adjustable cam gears
a good large ported intake manifold (skunk2... GE if you're going to boost)
    a 68-70mm t-body
some 440cc injectors and a good header (hytech)

and seven to eight thousand dollars later you're good to go

those injectors would be too big on that setup.
id stick with 310-370's. I wouldnt use a hytech either, RMF or SMSP.
The key to power in all motor LS is the HEAD, they flow like shit. DItch the stock pr4 head and hunt down a PR8 head, the PR8 is like the VTEC head for the LS. Its got VTEC valve sizes and bigger ports.

If you want to fully build it, then run forged internals, 12:1 is fine , 12.5:1 you wont be able to run pump gas.

if you dont want to get forged internals, then run LS rods that are shotpeened with ARP rod bolts, and B16 pistons. that will put you in the high 11's for compression.

I would go with the big bore (85mm) but i woldnt run a 95mm crank in a street motor. full race then yeah do it, but not a street motor

Its a P8R head Mike. Mike is right it has very similar specs to a vtec head and it only comes off the 1998 CRV. Good luck hunting, very rear head but if you do find one, extremely good find.
