Make sure you get the Turbo, the 7mge (N/a) are pigs only like 200hp from the factory so only around 170-180 to the wheels, in a 3500 pound car is not good =D. stock turbo's run around a 15.1-15.5 1/4 time. There is lots of aftermarket out there for the mk3 check out supramania.com im currently building my first mk3 and i love it. A common rust spot for these cars is under the wing =D other wise as far as the engine goes, they are fairly cheap and lots of different options to go with so i wouldnt worry about getting a perfect engine.
