Default Exhaust work with no cat

Wasn't sure which forum to ask this in so I put it in here. Does anyone know a muffler shop in the Gwinnett area that will do exhaust work on a car with no cat and not charge an arm and a leg.

Make the drive over to Mainstream and you won't be disapointed. It's not that close but I drive from Milledgeville or McDonough up there and don't think twice. Make sure you call ahead and schedule it if you decide to go with them.

There's not an exhaust shop in the whole state that will work on your/any car without a cat. That's a law. Later, QD.

    According to epa.gov website:

"When a mechanic refuses to tamper with a car, the customer may ask for advice on how to disconnect emission controls. You and your customer are both at risk if you give such advice."

For the customer, it is a $2,500 fine and the shop is fined $25,000. So, wisely, most reputable shops will not touch a car with out all emission parts. Later, QD.

they can still build a system, with a huge "offroad use only" disclaimer attached .

The main issue it the exhaust cannot be on the car catless, or they cannot touch your car. If you tell them what you need done with it off the car they can usually help you. That's my experience.
