do you mean the endyne crank case ventilation kit? if so, a little gray smoke is ok, as it its venting the pressure in the crankcase. at idle, a little is ok. now, if it blows out like no tomorrow, something is wrong. do a leak down test. you will not know for sure if its toast until then.

dont do a compression check. do a leak down test instead.
