    Default Holset turbos. Anyone know anything about em?

    I"ve been in the market for quite some time for a larger turbocharger for my next project. Anyway, I was recently offered a Holset HX-30 for a very reasonable price. My goals are 350+whp, out of a mildly built 2.3l twin cam. I'm doing a DOHC volvo head. The flow rate for these heads is about as nice as a slightly worked 4G63.

    Anyone ever use a holset before? Whereabouts does boost come on for you? On what kind of motor? Anyone know the lb/min flow for an hx30? I hear its near the size of a 50trim t3/t4. Will it flow enough air to support 350whp?

    never used one but seen people use them and they are bad ass. they are OEM on cummins engines.

    holset are supposed to be a big tough turbo .. I've seen a guy at HMT run that on his D-series

    can't give spec. for the turbo, sorry

    AAP just switched to BorgWarner BullsEye Power turbos w/ the extended tip. I don't think they've ever used Holset turbos.
