    Default I don't see why ???

    Ppl buy cars from Audi Volkswagen AG... More shit has fucked up on my Jetta than all the shit from all my previous cars combined... And thats a lot of shit considering all the turbo drama I had to sort on my previous 240sx. I will never buy another German car unless it is a BMW. Benz reliability is down the toilet and don't fucking argue with me my dad has an S600 V12 that fucks up all the time. My old porsche was a fuck pit on wheels it was about as reliable as a hmmmm it wasn't reliable. Audi's suck nuts my boy's A4 turned into a pile of shit on its own. God damn german cars irk me. So its American and Japanese for me. There is no point in buying a god damn European name with leather seats and cup holders when you can buy Jap car with the same shit for cheaper. I know julio and ruiner are going to have opposed opinions but in all honesty American V8's and Japanese turbo cars are where its at.

    lol sounds like you know alot of people that have had very shitty luck with german cars...I know my fair share to, but I also know my fair share that have put 500000 on thier benz or bmw and they are still rolling strong...

    To each their own...

    Umm, Porsche is #1 on the initial dependability survey from JD Power... They beat out Lexus. Other German cars might not be reliable, but Porsche is not just any German car. Also remember that Porsche is 100% independent and is not owned by Volkswagen (despite what people may think).

    I've never had any issues with my 911 turbo and I know plenty of other people that haven't, either.

    I work in an independent european shop where 95% of the cars that come in are VW and Audi. I will have you know sir that you are 100% correct. When I move down there I am putting applications in at every dealership but those two. We are lucky enough to have one of best VW troubleshooting men in the northeast as a friend of the shop and he recently told me that the cars are now going to shit befor they are even sold. I would never drive any VW made after 1991. New VWs are junk and people only buy them for the name...and those people are morons.

    every car maker has issues, just depends on what your taste are...

    euros = electronic disaster
    american = crap
    jap = cheap

    i know tons of euros vw, bmw, benz, etc... that have made over 250k miles w/o anything but minor shit like a clutch, tune up...

    It all just depends on luck with the car itself. I know people with all makes and models of cars that have made it up that far without and problem...if you get a lemon well then you get a lemon...doesnt really matter wither it is a Kraut lemon, a jap lemon, or a home ground one...

    Personally, I would never buy an American car. Honda/Acura Toyota/Lexus for me only; I can't say I even trust Nissan, Subaru, Mitsu or the like.

    Maybe BMW and old Mercedes but new VWs and Audis would never go that long, especially with an automatic transmission. Dont get me wrong, VW motors are bullitproof, but the components that hep them run properly are not Scotish. Ill take an air cooled superbeetle over a brand new GTI any day. I think atleast once a week the old guy I work with flips out and goes "NO WONDER THEY LOST THE WAR"

    Yeah I dont know much about Subaru but I know Mitsubishi and Nissans product has gone to shit. I know for a fact Nissan stopped making good cars when all the models changed in 2001-2003

    But for some reason they have the most loyal buyers. I know a few VW owners that always have something going wrong, but they continue to buy another VW every couple years.

    its b/c the issues most of us have aren't any big deal... so i've thrown a few codes on my 1.8t... the car was 150whp/160lbs factory w/ NORMAL BOLT on's... software, downpipe, exhuast, intake car made 220whp/285lbs... you can't expect to not run into issues modding cars. but there hasn't been anything VW hasn't covered or i couldn't fix under 100$... most expensive part i replaced was my MAF it was like 65$.

    i will still continue to buy VW/Audi, i just purchased 2 cars in the past month both VW... only other german car i would buy would be Porsche or M3. To me you just get more bang for your buck 10g you can get a hot used boosted ride that will last well over 100k miles

    I also own a 2000 jetta 2.0L my wife has driven this for 4 years w/o a single problem.

    as much problems they might give.owners of them are real die hard about them..including this one..
    i had a Corrado back in my freshmen year of college..it had a assload of problems but damn i miss that car with a passion and would take it back in a heartbeat.

    VW/Audi AG might have their issues but nowhere near as many as a Land Rover.

    Me and my pops used to have bets to see whose car would have more problems.
    (i'll put it like this, at one point, we had a land rover loaner car longer than we owned ours)
