    Default upside down coilover?

i just droped the car door today and it rides ok.. but one thing. the driver side shock will make lots of noise when hitting a hump in the road. i stoped the car and jacked it up when it happened. evey thing is str8 on it and no bolts are lose. i dont no why it is doing that. any ideas?

my thought is that the coil is upside down but i dont no if that makes a difference. well any input will help.

ps: it sounds like the spring is shifting when it hits bumps

I don't think the spring being backwards would make a difference. Make sure the (rubber or metal) hat sits on top of the spring & sits into the round notch on the inside of the fender on the top of the strut. Also make sure you tighten the bolts from up top in the engine bay, while the car is lowered on the ground.

REAL ones do, but sleeves don't.

as for the problem at hand... did you assemble everything correctly? sounds like you didn't tighten the top nut well enough that holds the assembly together.
