    Default 3sgte power problems

ok i've been having this problem for a while now with my 3sgte swap in my 1990 celica. basically i'm getting hesitation and general power loss. here are the facts

this is a turbo 2.0L toyota motor, same as mr2 turbo.
in high rpm's it starts hesitating and breaking up.
my friend said he saw a little blue flame coming out the exhaust while i was floored the other day.
sometimes when i start it black crap spits out of the exhaust all over the ground but not always.
the turbo is running at about 14 psi but the problems occur at stock boost also.
it starts instantly when it's cold but can take up to 4 seconds to start when it's hot.
i've changed the spark plugs, distributor cap, rotor, ignitor, ignition coil. the plug wires are fine.
it doesn't seem to smoke when i'm floored.
it's running a blitz access ecu that came with the celica gt4 clip from japan. something with the ecu could be the problem.
60-90 kph roll on's have been timed at 1.9 seconds when it ran correctly on the blitz ecu. now it runs anywhere from 2.1 to 2.5, usually 2.3 to 2.5 but sometimes it will pull a 2.1.
the hesitation can be very obvious at times and it's like i'm just letting off half the throttle kind of. when the problem first started it wouldn't even rev past like 6 rpm very well.
the boost pressure doesn't drop down suddenly or anything

if anyone can offer any help on this let me know. i've been trying to fix this like everyday and i can't find the problem.

ok so i was checking out the o2 sensor and if i unplug it and monitor the voltage it's showing me correct but when i check out the voltage on the wire running the ecu it's showing 0.05 to 0.06 when it should be showing 0.5. so when i plug the o2 sensor in it's just showing 0.05 to 0.06 still when it should be bouncing up and down. it's like it's shorting to a ground but when i unplug the wire from the ecu and from the o2 sensor so that it's not plugged into anything, it's not grounded. i tested it for ohms. so WTF.

You know Drew, you ought to just come over to my shop and we'll swap the ECU out with another one, see if that Blitz ECU is causing the problem.

Sorry I didn't get back to your chat the other day, I was up to my neck in custom a/c lines

have you replace the coolant temperature sensor? Your sensor might be bad, causing it to run on limp mode. When you engine is not in an operating temperature, your ecu will retard the timing..preventing it from messing up. Thats the same sympton i have on my mr2. Problem is fix now.
