well when your motor has almost 200,000 miles on it, and leaks oil...common sense says rebuild it before boosting it. and if you're going to rebuild your motor anyhow (and have to pay for machine work, etc), it makes sense to do it with forged internals the FIRST time, rather than OEM parts. especially if you plan to daily drive it.
better to spend the extra $500 on forged internals up front and have a little security/reliability, than waste more money and time to rebuild it a SECOND time when i decide to go bigger in the future. it's not like i spent $2000 to sleeve the block...
as far as the turbo size...mang i said i was building a fast daily driven STREET car. not a trailer queen or a track car. what good is 600whp gonna really do me from stop light to stop light on a boosted FWD car?
i admit tho, i was shooting for 300whp...if i didnt get the gt28r for dirt cheap, i'd have probably went a little bigger for sure. and in the future i plan to. but i'm new to the turbo game...so cut me some slack
