    Default Turbocharging a Lexus sc300

Lately I have been kicking around the idea of getting a mid 90s sc300 and turbocharging it. Is it the same overall process as doing up a na supra, or is it more involved? What are the overall costs involved as far as prepairing the block, getting a turbo kit, and installation? Im thinking of about 450-500 rwhp. Is that feasable? I ran into a turbo sc300 a couple of years ago, and it was a total sleeper. Im no stranger to high perf. cars, but my import experience is limited.

Thrust, may I suggest you starting here , register and run a search on "turbo" and I'm sure you'll find all the answers you're seeking now. Been a member of CL for years and everyone on the board is helpful and mature. There's even a few turbo sc's up for sale in the vehicle classified section. I was about to undergo the project myself a few years ago until I totaled out my 97sc3, so i had to settle for my sc'd GS4 Good choice if you decide to go with it, ton of potential with a touch of luxury.

If you need any custom parts built like intercooler piping, exhaust system, then go to 4gperformance. I have seen a lot of there work and its good and inexpensive, unless you want stainless then thats another story.

Well the stock motor is good for about 8-10psi on stock compression. I would recommend that you install a GTE headgasket and ARP headstuds. Then slap on an SP57 or PTE44 those two turbos make the car a blast to drive. Boost is available early and it makes some good power. I highly recommend that you also give companies like boostlogic, sound performance, or Titan motorsports a shout. They can give you tips on everything you need. IF you are looking for more info check out www.clubna-t.com and join its the best forums for swapping or turbo'ing your sc.

You can always do a 1JZGTE swap with the stock GE bottom end giving you a 1.5jz that would be a sick car too. 3 liter straight six, 8500 RPM red line, twin turbos at 14psi and they would scream the extra .5 liter.

    Yumm Yumm Rolls!
