So from what I got from this thread is, the car is being built for import showdown and import face off. If he is going pro then why not just take the time and build the pro car. Build a 3/4 car with a 1 piece front end and go out there and race. It would be your 1st year running pro, who cares if you dont run quite the times, thats what attending and racing is for. Hell look at that guy running pro 4 cylinder running high 12's. He is still competing though his motor isnt ready yet. Hell, flame hatch man (what ever his name is) is running low 8's and making 900 on the meth and I think with nitrous. That was before he went from the 45R to a 42R. We spoke with him, he gave us the run down on the car.
Anyway,
It takes a lot of time, money and fabrication to build a pro car, hell the axles alone are $5k, that is for the mark williams shit, plus multiple transmissions, blah blah. I wouldnt run this season and just build the pro car b/c its going to take a LOT of reading and question asking b/c they may change some rules last minute.
And regards to danny, Yes we do plan to travel to some of the races. 8hr. drive isnt shit.
This car will be running Turbo Street...He has another hatch to run Pro if and when he decided to. Its not getting built specifically for those 2-3 local events...His plans as of now arent to go Pro just yet maybe next year...As for now we will just race our cars that we are finishing building...
If you look at chucks car it isnt a 3/4.Yes he cut the rear out and put sheet metal.We might do that as well after the year is over.We spent atleast 2 hrs talking to chuck and getting the low down on his car,he was very helpful. But there is really no reason you have too run a tube chassis and a one piece front end.Shit i promise when peter goes pro he will probly run this car the exact same way.He will change a few things around.
And no this car was not built just for Importshow down and Importface off peter built this car becasue he likes to race,shit hes at commerce more than anyone on this board.He dont even have a car now but he goes every FRIday to watch.
Peter loves the sport and he loves the competition,even if its not for cash.Peter has set the bar high for alot of Ga racers and he will contnue to do so.I dont think he is throwing money away for nothing,he is looking in the future and wanting to go PRo.

this car is built to run whatever it can run in. The season is close to being over for the events we will be attending but.... all of us love to race so we will do so if its not to spec per class...
i mean even if he didnt want to run any sanction, he doesnt have to. its his car, his money, etc...if he built it to be a dyno queen...let it be. If he built it to run just T&T let it be.
i see some cars that arent built that isnt even legal to run some classes because it falls in between turbostreet and pro class... Its up to the owner of the car to do what he/she wants.
Again..who cares what scantioning body it runs in..it will compete in TURBO STREET, TT, ISD,IFO, TUNERFEST, 3SGA, if he wants too...as long as its within the rules.

Let me reword it....its almost over because there are only a few events we will be running. 6 NDRA but we wont be traveling to them.
BTW...how many of those events are you going to? probably not much right? so the season is almost over as in what we will and what we wont be attendign
we're finishing our cars so that we can get some practise runs before next season starts.
