I do not think that pump failing would have happened again in a million years... just got lucky (or unlucky). In fact, I see more OEM pumps w/ the Toda/aftermarket oil pump gear failing than I do stock gear pumps. I drove up to Inline Pro to see progress on my block (well, actually I was already in VA visiting some old Air Force buds) and they use OEM pumps for all of their builds that are sub 450whp and sub 9500RPMs. I'd almost bet, that a NEW OEM pump could have taken it (the revs). I think that your pump was already gonna go whether you had it on your motor or mine. I think your pump was just done no matter if you were spinning to to 10k or 7k. Just one of those things.
