they are the greatest cars ever built, EVER lol on a serious note, they are very heavy, extremely expensive to maintain, hard to work on, and of course the usual mitsu problems, but i still loved mine and miss it horribly but one day ill get another one...chicks dig them though

your looking at picking up an expensive, heavy, slowish car that is a bitch an a half to find parts on. as for the ladies lovin it, idk, i never saw proof.

As stated the cars are very heavy and difficult to work on. Expensive is a relative term! We have worked on turbo as well as N/A. Our experience has been that cost vs. performance output is lop sided to the cost side. However if you love your car and are willing to accept its inherent flaws you will love it that much more when it performs well. And yeah chicks dig em!

Well with the 3000gt bottom end is weak. standard Mitsu problems are oil leaks, noisy lifters, drive train issues. what year is the car? the ECU is a weak point too in the early years. up to 92-93 I think. driving daily..well maintaining it is the best way to extend the life obviously. Strict maintaining with the 3si's.

I dunno if you are aware of the ECU problems with the 1st gen eclipses, talons and lasers. In fact I am not sure if it is a turbo car problem only but the ECU has a "cap" in it that likes to leak and it eats away at the board. eventually making the car very unpredictable in daily driving to all out non-function.

I really don't know what you all are talking about... Everything you guys said to dog the car, is the VR4 or TT Model. None of that applies to a base or SL.

There are plenty of parts available. Plenty of aftermarket ones as well. N/A's are easy to work on.. Is TT's that are a bitch. Which in the end, still aren't that hard.

I'd suggest you look on 3SI.org and look through those forums. You will find people who actually know about the cars, and don't just think they are slow and heavy becuase they heard it from someone else. Most of these assumptions are based on the fact that there are very few VR4/TT models around, so most of them you see, are slow SL's. And plus, the price bracket is much different from SL and VR4 models, so the people with SL's are normally young kids, just looking to rev you at a stop light.

I think you mean 3SX Performance - good performance shop for them ( I know this because its also a Starquest performance shop they have like a low 11s-10s 3k )

i mean i have had one so i think i can knock it a bit. i loved the car, i really did, and i wanna get another one. im just saying i have a civic right now and its soooo much easier to find parts, cheaper, easier to work on, better gas mileage, better on insurance, and its so much lighter and im gonna tell u i dont hate that stuff too much lol if ur lookin for something cheap and easy then 3000gts arent it but if ur lookin for a pretty cool car with some power(even tha n/a ones have some get up and go) that ur willing to spend time and money on then id say definately go for it. i just want to make sure u know its not gonna be a walk in the park
