    Default The ultimate 16" tire?

I'm in the market for another set tires, ultra-high performance to high performace or similiar and wondering what peoples favorite tires were? Currently running the 205/45-16 Dunlop FM901.

Here's what i've narrowed it down to so far...

    • Falken Azenis RT215 - 205/55-16 or 215/45-16
    • Falken Azenis RT615 - 205/40-16
    • Kumho Ecsta MX - n/a
    • Yokohoma Parada Spec-2 - 205/45-16
    • Bridgstone Potenza S-03 - n/a
    • Toyo Proxes T1-R - 205/45-16

I'm really getting into the RT-615's even though i don't exactly like the way they look...is differant though and they're growing on me the more i see them at the track. Just kinda worried about dropping down to a 40 series....BUT if they run wide then the 5% smaller aspect will actually be less than 5% so it's not really that big of a deal. I have fun dodging holes and roadplates everyday anyways.

I just found out the 215/45-16 Azenis RT-615 is now available...since i'm spacing my wheels for the brakes and gotta raise the car a little once i take a couple degrees out of the [-3.5°] camber in the front i wonder if i can get them to squeeze in there. I'm going up another 75lbs in the rear and 75-100lbs in the front on my spring rate so it shouldn't be a problem...

azenis rt615 for dry grip + stiff sidewall, kumho mx for better heat tolerance... hankook rsz212s or something, proven to be a great bang for the buck.
Please tell me if you think my car looks good. But don't tell me if you think it's ugly - only on IA

If I were you I would go with the Potenza S03. Those were the original tires on my car and they are simply sick. They grip like no other and are comfortable and quiet. The only downside is the UTGQ is super low. Its lower than just about anything else out there. I think its like 180 or something. But hey- for the performance and ride quality, its hard to beat.

I have ran these tires already, and the conclusion....
-azenis RT215, great tires, sucks in the rain
-yokohama parada spec-2, good quality, ride/control is comfortable, seems the same to me as toyo t1-r
-potenza, didn't own these long enough to test
-toyo proxes t1-r, bought these for my group N's and sold them 2 days later, ok tires, rides like kumho ecsta 711 to me

I have been through 8 sets of wheels on my red dc2 (sold it already) and my conclusion is, azenis, they suck in the rain but great for street.
