To JDM or NOT to JDM, that is the question

Your "opinion" would simply be which one you think is best... not to say that the other option is a "waste" or "stupid". Notice BTW, that I have not given my opinion at all, I am just playing devil's advocate to help people understand that to not like something is kool, but to say to the people that DO like it are "stupid" or it's a "waste" is wrong in itself.

your post is nice and all and i completely agree with you, but the original post pulls us 2 sides, "for" or "apposed" to JDM style, i see it as being silly to pay 700 bux for headlights, 1400 bucks for factory JDM bumpers/lips, 400 for a Wing, 80 dollars for a dipstcik, 170 for a valve cover, etc...

So simply stated, you should just say that you are against JDM. To add that it's silly for the people who prefer JDM is not what was asked in the poll. Like I said, it's all relative. Not that NE1 cares but I make $40 an hour, so what's "expensive" to some may not be expensive to others. $30 for an ashtray is not expensive to me. In fact, what determines if a choice is "silly" or not depends on your love for it. What determines how much something is worth depends on how YOU feel about it, not how much it actually costs. There are millionaires on Barret Jackson that pay millions for old Hemi Cudas b/c they LIKE them, period. To them, their love for it makes the price less important to them.

And that is your view that you are entitled to. This comment is exactly what the poll was asking for, YOUR opinion. This is the 1 place where you have given it w/out knocking the people who do not agree with you by calling them stupid or calling it a waste. You admitted that YOU think it's a waste. KUDOS to you, but just remember that some people do not think it's a waste.

Also speaking performance mods, to pay an extra 100 bucks for an exhaust because its "jdm" is silly when theres another brand you can buy thats just as good and sounds the same

His (hulud) opinion was that show is a waste, yes that is his opinion. An opinion isnt just what you like but what you like and dont like.

And i understand where your going with playing D advocate,i agree in the point you are trying to make here, but the thing is, very few people here would actualy understand your direction in doing so. Most would just assume your being annoying or arrogant.

Understood. Simply stated... do what YOU want to do with your car. But IMO I prefer a clean look. I will not call this a "JDM" look, simply b/c u can go aftermarket and still have a clean ride. But since "clean" is not an option in this poll I am more inline with "JDM" (for the purpose of this thread). But in making my choice I will not attack a show-guy and say that it's a "waste" or "stupid"... b/c at the end of the day a vehicle is 1 of the worst places to dump a lot of money PERIOD b/c it can all be gone in the blink of an eye. That's the game we play though, and that's the chance we take.

the point of this thread was to pick one side and debat it, more or less. I also believe that JDM is the new Fad, and yet most of my friends and the cars that i like are "JDM cars", including my own brother. The thread was headed in a nice debate direction, just let it get there.
