try drag radials first. easier on the drivetrain. pick of some BFg g-force kdws. then tell us how it went.

slicks do help. i gotta d16y7 in my 96 coupe. so far 15.9 was my quickest and i know how you feel about the spining part, because i do the same thing as you. i spin like a bitch through first and second. i don't have enough money to get drag radials yet, but they would help with the traction part. so just get some good drag radials and try it. BTW, do you have LSD?? i got it in my car and my shit is stock, i guess i'm lucky though...

slicks are cool if the street tire cars aren't in front of you eating up the rubber laid on the track.

you got that right! check out what happened to my last tranny from me running slicks on the street all the time. it was fuckin worth it the because slicks on the street is the shit!!! it broke my diff into peices and blew 4 holes in the tranny as you can see. those are only some of the peices!

Civic copue with a d16y7, not much done to it. i mean not like it's gonna pull 14's stock. but still quick for what it has done to it though. and by the way, i din't try to act like it's the fastest thing, i just said it is fast for what it is.

How is it quick for what it has done? Is it supposed to run 17s?

Just don't run your mouth like you did in the gainesville thread when your car runs high 15s.

Oh no I recall a "I'll race your ass" in the gainesville thread. You still can race me, if you want to put your money where your mouth is.

And you live in Gainesville, I grew up there. Not alot of fast cars there that come out around the ricers. I can remember busting alot of ass there in my 240 about 2 years ago. 15.9 is still way too slow, even for Gainesville.

I ran a 12.8 at 113 in my 240 and there were a few 13 second cars up there too.

You're just singing a different tune now I guess.

i don't race for money, not because i affraid or anything, but, i do it for fun..the only time i would race for money would be if i had a Built Supra, 240, Evo, or STI..definetly not race for money in a civic, unless it was a 10 sec car.. see what i'm saying?? BTW, i was talking about someone else that was saying he would beat somebody elses car. i simple said go run the other guy and then talk..

I don't mean to be harsh, but honestly NOONE "needs" slicks for a 15 sec car. Sorry, but that's the truth.

Slicks are great for traction and breaking things. If your car is not built to take it, save your money and build it TO take it. Yes, they are the best way to get traction, but on a 15 sec car so is a good set of NEW tires. If you are spinning so much in a 15 sec car, you have other issues like bald tires or dumping the clutch at 6000 rpms or trying to race on 13 in tires.

I have to agree with 1439....why bother?
