well I was looking at eigther a crx or a hatch as the car, and I would build it slowly. I priced everything out to be around 7-9K thats the car, engine tranny ecu, the wire harnesses being mated together, the new motor mounts, new axels, headers, exhaust, intake, fuel pressure regulator and other little odds and ends.

I may give them a call and see what they say.

Whats the normal install price for one of these at a shop?

i know your not talking bout tony's, I had heard there was another k swap in town, I have yet to see it yet.

My advise is buy a whole car Wrecked of course, for liek 3 grand, then part it out and put the motor in with all the stuff you need, and your car will be obd2, thats what we did.made money back he said so far only took about a grand out his pocket for the swap.

think like 500 bux max for a shell dude. for 3 grand the dohc vtec motor better be in it.

well I was looking at a totaled rsx type s for 5K, with rear end dammage....this may be what I will start with eigther that or I got someone who could get me a motor tranny ecu for like 3500-4000 so...then a shell crx for like 500 or a hatch for like 1000-1500. I have some time to think becuase I need to finish both the accords and the 4door gsr before I can think about anything so...I was just tryin to find some people to talkto about it once I start

    TSX longblock FTW!!!

    then build from there

also if you do doit I think these swaps look alot better when the CRX has the EF8 front end(the hood goes up instead of down) and cut away some of the underbracing then you dont have to cut a gaping hole in your hood and you can have a sleeper from hell...

as much as i would like to claim it, we did NOT build Tonys K20 CRX. Tony is from Columbus, and to my knowledge he did it himself. I sold him my old white CRX chassis cause his current one is kinda busted up.

We have done a few K series swaps, we did a 01 EX auto to manual and a K 20A3 swap, we have an EG slated for a K swap that we should take delivery on here soon, and we have our fully built RSX Project car we are working on.

Ideally, the CRX is NOT the chassis to do a K Swap in. There are MAJOR issues with hood fitment and closure problems, LOTS of custom fabricating to do if you want to keep the hood closed, or if you dont like cutting a huge hole in it.

There is a guy on HT doing 5 CRXs rght now, all are getting STOCK K20 DC5R swaps, and he charge 15K for EVERYTHING, parts and labor. he makes sure the hood closes buy fabricating new mount brackets.

When hes done with it, it looks spectacular, but its alot of money. and a lot of work.

I would choose an EG chassis, LOTS more room to work with, lots easier to swap into.

K series swaps are still in the 8-10K range for a K20A Type R

I will keep the EG in mind. I also was aware of the hole in the hood but I was looking into an altornator relocation kit to help this out. Is there any clearance problems with the eg? I auctually LOVE the EG much more than the crx, its just about what I can find first, hopefully an eg
