    Default Any Ideas?

I was wondering if anyone knew how to sell a car to an individual even if you're still making payments on it.
    Thanks

I've done it once and it was a long time ago. I'd think the first thing to do is contact your finance company and ask what the process is for paying off the car and obtaining the title. Tell them you are selling it to a private party and need to know their procedures.

If the buyer is local and the finance company has a local office, it's prolly an easy process. You and the buyer can visit the finance company, process the paperwork, obtain the title and sign it over to the new owner. If one of the party is out of state (likely the finance company) then some FedEx'ing is involved. Know the process upfront so you can explain it to a serious buyer before you make a deal. That way the buyer doesn't back out of the deal when you tell him what needs to be done.
