B18C1 is a great way to go, if you can't afford a B18C5, which I guess, really wouldn't be worth the price increase anyways.

the C1's are fairly stable for turbo, from what I've heard/been told...C5's....yeah, sure, if you have a butt ton of money.

yeh, but if you plan to go boosted you're wasting your money on getting a b18c5 because thats a good all motor but for boost its just a waste, best bet is to go with a b18c/c1 if you want boost, if not they are both good options to go with. But I myself prefer all motor, just really depends on your plans for it. If you really wanna go cheaper then build a ls/vtec for around $1200 or get a B16 for about $800 and put ctr internals and it'll run about the same. But then again a b18c1 w/ctr internals would run even better because of the compression ratio, the ctr exhaust cam and the gsr are the same so you wouldn't have to change that, but the only problem that you might encounter is the clearance from the pistons/head, so I guess pr3 (b16) would be good for the money. Do some research on honda-tech and you should be able to find your answer.
