    STi.

For $5,000... get a Meth kit, GT35R kit, and tuning.

Make 500whp on stock block/transmission all day, everyday. Can't say the same for Evos. Not to mention you get a much nicer interior, and sound system.

Not to mention you get a closed deck motor that is basically swimming in oil and can run 28 psi on all stock internals. Oh and that sexy sexy sound of the boxter engine

Sorry, I can't give up on the RX-7 Twin Turbo. I made an easy 270whp in mine for about 2G's and it weighs 2750lbs RWD. For the extra $3K I could make it hit 340+whp and run low 12's and it would handle real well and you could still get the tail out real nicely.

downpipe, mid-pipe, catback, 1600cc secondary injectors, Supra fuel pump, Apexi' Power FC ecu, Intake filters, bigger sidemount intercooler, and a manual boost controller.

Something is wrong with your math. What about a fuel pump, injectors, clutch, etc...???

A new 06 Evo with $5K in mods can run mid to high 11's with the right combination of parts.

Flashed ECU, clutch, meth kit, cam, ARP studs, upper/low pipe, fmic, turbo back exhuast, 1G bov

Dont buy any, buy an old subaru legacy, swap in an sti engine/interior and then mod with the remaining cash. You'll end with a cooler, faster (depending on which engine) and lighter car.

    Otherwise 2 for me...but i'm biased

That's funny that you say that. In the past 3 days I have seen 2 older legacy GT's....... one was lowered and the other looked like a rare sporty model. The lowered one was a 2.5GT and i was thinking....swapped turbocharged kid hauler!

the srt4 is a great platform to mod, it doesn't take much to get'em going.

    Bone stock evo/sti > srt4

I don't understand though.... all of those cars are at different price points. What is the TOTAL you can spend?

    srt4 = 99.9% douche bags... fwd
honda category = slow and fwd (takes more than 5K to compete with a stock sti)

That makes no sense, at least not in reference to the EVO. That's like saying "Hamburgers on white buns are serious, hamburgers on whole wheat buns are for kids." The STI and EVO are so damn alike.

I would say STI. I've always like both WRXs and Evos, and I hate to say it, but I think the STI is more reliable. I'd do this to the STI with the $5k:
    -Tint
    -Good full exhaust
    -Very good stereo setup
    -Short shifter
    -Carbon fiber hood
    -Front mount intercooler

u didn't specify how much we initially had to spend on the car. I said other.

I'd buy a stock SRT/10 viper with 5000 dollars to spend, a good S/C and i'm up to 700hp while possibly still affording good tires

Shit why would you only have $4k to invest into the civic?

With the money you saved buying a civic, you would have alot more money to invest into it. This poll is bias!!! LOL
