    Default Oh really now...

I found a great deal on a civic but when i asked any issues or problems etc... The owner says none at all and that they just replaced the Timing Chain ...
Talk about ruining my ideas or maybe a chance of purchasing it

It cheap insurance to do the timing belt on any used import car over 100k miles to me. If they dont have proof of it being done i will just do it anyway. It cost me like 125$ in oem honda parts to do it on my civic. Should not be a deal breaker its just a maintance item. And with your buying a 2k car you cant expect people to spend the big money a shop will charge to sell a 2k car. Just like wanting new tires on a new car is it nice to have yes, But would you spend 400$ on tires just to sell a 2000 dollar car?

wow what a fail. i had a deal fall through on something like this once because i went to look at a car that supposedly ran great and when i got there to look at it the owner popped the hood and pointed to the valve cover and said yeah i just replaced the air intake and then he proceeded to go to the back of the car and pointed at the exhaust and said my son just replaced the distributor. so i said ill let ya know and i dipped out.

The new K-series has a timing chain; 2002-05 Civic Si & 2006-11 Civic Si. The OP didn't specify the year of the Civic.
