Is it complicated to do a F23 block and a H22 head?

it kinda is and it kinda aint,if that makes since...im actually running the same setup but with a built bottem end.things you will need for the swap to work though..such as the h22 crank gear,h22 water pump gear pressed on a f23 water pump,h23 headgasket, waterneck modifaction(it has to be lenghtened),complete h22 head with 2 of the oil drain ports pluged,h22 timing belt.the list goes on but if you wanted to try, more power to you..

its a cheap mans H23 vtec i guess. F23 blocks are a dime a dozen.

but i always liked just sticking with the H22 motors, i mean they are like $600-800 .

Even low mileage IMPORTED H23 VTECs are $1100

true but also in that sense i personally like to know what im getting, cause even though they say the shape the motor is in isnt always true.(no offense).i mean and a couple of pluses on the hybrid,is the long stroke 55 mains plus the flow of the head and the possibilty to put k20 pistons to bump the compression up to make a fairly cheap stroker that will more than likely roll on a h22. to me honestly the slighty low rev limit on the setup is one downfall.just personal opinion though.

I own a shop with everything laying around to do plus three f23 blocks but i see no need . The only gain is steal sleeves which if you bore them big enough to run a h22 piston there to thin hold boost . people dont realize how cheap dry sleeves are and if your not going to make over 400hp just run the mahle pistons no need to sleeve the frm block. Alot of people dont realize that the closed deck frm sleeves are very good most high end cars run them . They actually run cooler and have less wear then steal sleeves. The only draw back is forged pistons want work but since they came out with the mahle pistons thats not a problem any more . Personaly i would find a f20b block before i wasted my time on a g23 (which i have one of them also lol. It has steal sleeves , runs a 55mm crank so a f23 crank will bolt right in, and a h22 head bolts right on no modifications . there are so many options out there i just dont see why anyone would go through the trouble to build a g23 . people say well i had the parts laying around. Well guess what it cost the same money to build a h22.gsr,b16,h23vtec as it does to build to crap you got laying around and id rather put my money in a nice set up .

Your sleeves arnt stock . You cant bore stock sleeves to 88mm but before you resleeve a f23 why not sleeve a h22 ? I mean i know why you did whay you did but in any other situation no need
