    Default Y8 or ZC SOHC

    I currently have an Y7, I want to swap the Head for vtec head and Mani,
    what is better choice ZC or Y8 head?
    does anyone have a list of everything needed for the swap.

    the zc isnt vtec... or at least the one i had wasnt, im pretty sure they didnt make a zc with vtec

    Why are you trying to do this? You ever going turbo or are u trying to build a n/a motor?

    Its not the oil pumps that are the problem. The y series cranks have one hole for bearing lubrication as compared to the 2 the z6 has. If you build a y you need to set your bearing tolerances accordingly and run different weight of oil to kick your oil pressure up some. My buddy made 609whp on his y8 with the stock oil pump revving to 9500 frequently.....

    The guy I talked to said he had a Jdm vtec zc, honestly right now i haven't made my mind up on all motor or boost , right now i know i want vtec and I just want a y8 intake so the engine bay looks cleaner

    i would just do a z6 head..... you can get them for good $'s.....

    hell yea man no problem.... i mean you aren't wrong, they aren't as good as the z6 pumps still but they get the job done. modifying them wouldnt hurt either.....

    If you decide to go all motor I wouldn't use a D unless you don't care about numbers and aren't aiming for much. If I was to do it again I would have just boosted my Z6. If I'm lucky I might make 160whp when it's all said and done. I also have a lot of $$$ tied up in my setup. Back on topic if you want a VTEC head I would use a Z6 like jdm94coupe said.

    Which manifold? I think all D's are interchangeable don't quote me on it.

    just dont cross obd on the manifold or you'll have to do sensor or block off conversions
