There are way too many variables for a car that old for there to be any truth to this.

But you should probably just buy a Honda.

lol x2. civic ex, accord ex, integra ls or gsr, bb4 prelude si or vtec, take your pick as long as its a honda. unless performance is more important to you. in that case, youll be hard pressed to find something that can scoot for 3k. maybe a foxbody mustang but then youre missing out on reliability and mpg.

so, in closing, honda honda honda....

Honda for sure and I say civic. You can find so many for less than $3000 and MPG is awesome, easy to work on and reliable at that!! IMO

Which would you rather have - a 160K mile Honda Civic for $3K, or a 40K mile Buick V6 for $2500? It's simple really. Look for a low mileage grandma car, and get it. It will not have performance or coolness, but it will be low enough mileage to be reliable, reasonable mpg, and will have more features.

40k miles on a buick is just like 150k miles on a honda. Any honda pre 00 should be able to be found for under 3000 dollars

My 40K mile Buick runs better than my 40K mile Accord, much less 150K mile Accords. Both are V6s, and the Accord is 10 years newer, and the Buick gives better mpg, and is just as reliable. I've owned a lot of cars over the years of all makes and models - especially Honda Accords.

anything made by Honda. Toyota trucks.

Just search anything youre interested in buying. Google search "overheating problem" ect ect... if you get 238905783572895728957238957 hits. you do the math. Check consumer reviews and such.

    Acura Integra

I had 1.8k in my car to get it on the road. It had 129,000. The b18 has enough power to be enjoyable and is still capable of 30+ mpg. Super reliable cars and parts are extremely cheap. If you are looking to mod the car, you have an unparalleled aftermarket to choose from.
