Three pieces: hub, quick release assembly ( two pieces really itself ) and steering wheel.
Attach the hub to the steering shaft assembly so you can use either a standalone steering wheel or quick release/tilt system of your choice. The quick release is composed of two main parts: the piece that bolts to the hub and the piece that the steering wheel bolts to. The piece that attaches to the hub ( male end if you will ) has an extension on it that has many holes all the way around it so the ball bearings sit into them to lock into place. The piece that the steering wheels bolts to ( female end if you will ) has an equal amount of ball bearings in place that slip over the extention of the "male end" and roll into the holes to lock into place. On the "female end" there is a slide lock that you pull towards you to remove the steering wheel. On the slide lock, there is a groove that the ball bearings move into so they are out of the way enough to unlock. When you place the steering wheel back onto the "male end", the extension pushes on a release lever inside the "female end" and releases the slide lock locking the balls into their respective holes.
