    Default Saab Blown Head Gasket

So I am looking for either a shop to replace the blown headgasket on a 99 9-3S model or some resources to get a replacement engine, which is the B204L.

Why would you need to get a new engine when the only problem is a blown head gasket?

Usually always cheaper to put another engine rather gan have Head Gasket replaced. Head Gasket replacement quoted is $1100-1700. My schedule does not allow me to work on the car also. It's the $1700 that scares me. I already found an engine and installer for $1100.

Pleasure to talk with Dan. Seems like a cool guy. Going to get more info from previous owner and get back with Dan...to be continued!

You need to contact M&M Saab in Woodstock. The one time I had to get something done to my car I went to them and they did great work. Good prices on labor as well. They are old school Saab guys and definitely know their stuff. Here is their site. http://www.mandmsaab.com/

Spoke with M and M and they seem pretty cool. I was not able to get anymore info from previous owner so wondering now if I should just install a replacement motor. Found motor but have seen install prices kinda high. I did get a quote of $600 to put motor in from the shop that installed the tranny on the Trailblazer.
