    Default gsr head.

OK I have a few questions . First off is a gsr head on b16 block a waste of time.... am I better off with a b16 head. Second will a b16 intake fit on a gsr head? Thx in advance.

b16 an b18c5 (type r) intake manifolds will swap but the gsr b18c1 is all by itself ...

dunno on the gsr head on b16 block, but it should work

usually most people have a gsr block an put a b16 head on it for a poor mans type r setup

P75 is an LS head, B18B1. GSR, B18C1 is P72.

I like the P72 chamber much better than the P13. The chamber is also a little bit smaller on the P72 as well.

Hmm, wonder what it would do for mid range torque on the b16 with the dual stage manifold. sounds like a good thing for it. but a p75 head is an LS head, not a gsr. P72 is 94+ gsr. But it will fit no problem. Just need a different radiator hose.

I meant to say p72 Idk why I put 75 LOL. I'm thinking ls-v so I may not use the b16 block. Putting my a2 piston in ls block with gsr head and call it a day....

i have that current setup b16 block gsr head basically you get a high compression b16 feels stronger than a b16 to me

    http://www.c-speedracing.com/howto/c...c/compcalc.php

just change the head to a b18c1 and see the difference

All. My friends say its a waste... what kind of HP you looking at? You took It to a track yet? I'm kind of in the middle of b16 block with a gsr head or ls-v with b16 pistons. I think ls-v will produce the most out of the two.

If you want to do LSV then you should "build" it with internals... IMO

Also the GSR head on B16 Block is a waste.. Just sell it or trade for a B16 head..

A gsr head on a b16 bottom end would be better than a regular b16 because of the increase in compression and having the gsr cams. But would probably benefit more swapping out the gsr intake manifold to a blox,skunk2,aebs. But i would only do this if you had it laying around. An ls-v will make alot more power and torque all around, if done right. Ls block with b16 pistons can net around 200whp with the right head setup.

I don't really have a budget, I have both ls and b16 already in my hands. Just need to decide which path to take. Either way I'm gonna rebuild both . I wanna do lsv and it be reliable.

I used a compression calculator on my computer and it said my compression will be around 12:2 .... I'm thinkin that's a lil high.

Sweet, I plan on adding a lil bit of boost with This as well. I'm not looking for big ass numbers just want something fun and reliable.

You could leave the ls pistons in it to put you around 10.18:1 which would be like a gsr with more tq. and that would also leave you with a good compression to boost on.

Hmmm... Alright sounds good. As far as the strength of a stock piston what kind of pressure can they stand? Thinking maybe I should buy some forged pistons to go with my new rods.
