I've driven all of em but the Inifiti and Murano, I liked the Acura the best. But again, it all depends on what you can find for how much, with what options.

Why do people always have a kid and buy a SUV and chalk it up to safety? A bigger vehicle does not mean safer, have you checked the IIHS ratings for the vehicles above? I can tell you right now you may be very surprised with how some of them performed. I would really suggest you check our their site before buying a SUV for your family. If it's space you need then a wagon by Volvo or Saab may be a better choice. IMO they look very nice as well and they offer so many more advantages over the SUV's you have listed.

On a side note the LR Discovery above is one of the least reliable vehicles you could buy. So if you don't want to leave your family stranded on the side of the road I would stay away from it. If you are set on a SUV and have to get one you may want to consider the Subaru Forester as well.

I have owned a murano and a aviator. But i have also driven the mdx, navigator and the land rover.I would say the murano was the best all around car.the only thing i did not like about it is traveling 8hr's with 4 adults and a child because it just seem to small. But overall the wife used it to drive 65miles a day and it got good gas milage vs the other suv no doubt! I would go with the muarno but would get a 05 and up because 04 and down has tranny problems but its warrantied untill 125k on every 1 of them.
I check sluts off my list like a maintnence man
I drive a low is3 just so it gives me a reason to drive super slow on these rough ga roads.

Tahoe. Other than that I would definitely recommend the MDX. I worked for Acura and they were very nice, reliable vehicles.
    Who knows?

even though they are great off road vehicles, the land rovers have too many electrical and drivetrain issues, i would recommend to stay away from that
the most reliable as far as ive heard so far, is the acura, and ive heard good things about the murano also

I forgot about the Forester, ill look at a few of those thanks for the suggestion.

Maybe all the SUVs i listed above are not the safest but im sure they could all take a wreck a lot better than the Kia Rio she is currently driving and I do not want to get a wagon and she doesnt want a minivan, soooo, that leaves me with a few SUVs to choose from.

    I. Love. The Discovery...so much, but it pains me because it really is such a badly built vehicle. It's underpowered, it's got dodgy electronics, and over time the sunroof will actually develop leaks. Unless you were to buy one brand new, it's not worth it.

A Jeep Grand Cherokee is a pretty solid choice, but you'll have to skimp out slightly on interior materials and build quality. The MDX is top-notch in those regards, but to me that vehicle is really just a big station wagon. It's not a bad thing by any means, but if you want any sort SUV traits in there, go for the 4Runner. It's the best overall package.

if you're smart you will remove the landrover and grand cherokee from your list of options. they both belong on a poll titled " biggest pieces of shit ever made". seriously... both of those vehicles have horrendous track records. two of the least reliable vehicles in automotive history.

    Murano or MDX.

    No Subaru?

I bought a Murano for my wife they are amazing as long as you take care of the suspension parts after the 100k you should be good to go. They ride amazing sound amazing and look amazing. Only down fall is like I said are the suspension parts like ball joints, struts wear and tear parts etc. Other than that and the transmission problem mention above I wouldn't think twice about buying another one.
