They are supposed to be coming out with another 7.

The RX-8 is an ugly car anyway, Mazda took it too far from the 7 when they made it IMO...
Unfortunately, it looks like it is only for the European market.

as the 16x comes into play
Ballerness is like butter you just can't blob it in one place you got to spread that shit around
gay,Ive always liked the RX-8. And I really liked the little facelift it got.
I was upset when I read this, until the article said they're going to start working on the next generation of the rotary car and that they're working on making the new 16X lighter and more powerful before they release it. So it's still coming out, Mazda is just making sure they do it 100% right.![]()
^^ Yeah, I drew a frame of a man running on each fan blade. That is him running at idle
Never could get into the rx8, seemed really under equipped for the price. Car was a major let down with hardly any aftermarket support. Good riddance.
cant wait to see whats next
good. now they can start working on the next gen rx7

quite a run, guess they sold well...?
Good time for a new model.
They sold well in 05-06, apparently in Q4 2009 they only sold 128 in the entire country. Not so good.
In all fairness they do handle quite well, it's just the lack of power really hurts its appeal as a sports car. Also it has 4 seats... If you ever get the chance to drive a super or turbo charged rx-8 it'll completely change a negative opinion. I've ridden in a 300ish rwhp RX-8 and it made the car exponentially better.
i always liked the rx8, and i don tthink it will be truly appreciated until years on. When they are cheaper, and people can tput some money into them. Especially when the new Rx car comes out. For a car with such a good chassis. Cant wait to see whats next
I remember the first commercial....
and top gear !
i remember watching bout of those, lol.
I loved the RX-8 from the start and I still do,I think it is a great looking car and would love to own one.
I just read an article about the subject in R&T. Looks like a strange looking rx7 comes into play. I like it.
thank god what a ugly ass car
haha, i was rollin on vteck kidd, thas literally the first words that came out of my mouth when i saw this thread lol..I dont think that they are bad looking cars, i just think of em like the crossfires, wrong place at the wrong time lol..mazdas confuse me anyways, im not sure which car is the top dog in their lineup lol..the mazda speed 3 seems to be the popular choice, but why have them been making 4 different performance or sports cars that just trample over one of another's sales??? idiotic.
I like the RX-8, but they rushed the Wankel to comply w/ the new emissions standards, which led to the problems it had. I like the car itself though...
i liked the rx-8. hopefully its replacement will bring what the rx-8 had and more.
Rx-8
= suspension/suspension geomoetrey to die for and a damn good chassis to go along with it. Keep in mind this car is actually used in rear racing, unlike somewhat unsuccessful 350z's and the sort when compared to this car. Overpriced, underequppied? I think not, I remember back in 03' when my dad was consdering one 26k got him 4 doors, 4 door insurance, navigation, leather, GT package etc. It's just to bad the motor was so thristy and underpowerd. 9k is fun but it needed about 40 more hp. It's due for replacement i.m.o
I owned one, and honestly it was one of the best cars i ever owned. It was stylish and always got looks no matter where i went.
I had an 04 GT 6 Speed with BOSE and the bodykit and sunroof. It handled just as good or better than any Integra Type-R or S2000 ive driven. Power was a bit down, it felt like a RWD ITR IMO. Lots of revs not a lot of power. it was a ton of fun to drive though it wasnt SLOW by any means and you could pass people easily. The gearing i always thought was perfect it was short geared when you needed it around town and tall on the highway.
The only thing i didnt like was the fuel mileage, it was god awful, i got 16-18mpg around town.
I put exhaust on mine and Underdrive pulley set and it was a good change. My friend had Intake on his and it def seemed more throttle responsive.
I think what killed it was by 07-08 people new they were having problems with the automatics blowing up. The fuel mileage was terrible compared to other cars in its class and around 2006 into 2007 was when the gas crunch hit. I also heard a lot of storied of MAzda doing everything they could to get out of the 100,000 mile warranty they had extended to all RX8s. They just became like every other older RX-X, cool cars if you were prepared to keep up the maintenance.

I'm suprised it lasted this long. They were a good idea that was a bad end product. They were cool cars, handled well, 4 doors so you got a break on certain things and they looked pretty cool, still do. But when it all came together with the drivetrain issues and the poor fuel mileage....it fell on it's face. I remember going to a dealer get together for them in Gwinnett behind the mall when they released them. I pulled up in my 342whp FD, a few others with FD's pulled up and we were expecting some good things. They took us for a ride and the power was laughable at best. It needed about 50 more HP. The sluggishness, the fuel mileage and some other things killed the sales. Too bad, I liked the way they looked.

If you're gonna do it, overdo it.

Weren't the automatic problems due to the inadequate oil coolers? If I recall the Manuals have a more robust system. Also, Mazda better hold up their end of the bargain. I plan on my motor letting go at around 90,000 miles so I can get a new one for free. I'll keep you posted how that works.
time flies by quick because it feels like yesterday I first saw it in X men. Hope the next rx isn't disappointing!
