I was talking about lexus gs400 bro! lol
Ugly as fuck with no potential to look good.
WTF IS WRONG WITH THAT? Lexus has always made great cars.
GS400's are awesome. The looks are subjective obviously, I like the older models myself. Just make sure it's in good condition if you buy one, luxury cars come with a higher maintenance cost. But if it's been maintained they run forever just like any other Lexus will.
Yea man those GS400's are nice. i prefer the ones from 98-01 . Either Gs400 or Gs430 , yea i heard they have a high maintenance cost, parts etc. knowing its a Lexus thats what you have to expect. Its a nice car too cruise along and also do some other things at the same time. Can make a nice VIP car also. !
they are great cars, I also love the ls series as well
Well I love the cars, especially the years you mentioned. The EGR from the V8's tend to go out and cause a check engine light to come on and not pass emissions. If one does have a light on that is most likely the problem so don't worry about it. All you have to do is buy a new one and you can change it yourself easily. It is a NOx problem. Get an engine flush if you can just bc it will do the car good. Good thing I have noticed is that most Lexus cars for sell come with the previous owner's maintenance documents. As for maintenance, oil is the big one. Just do it right and you shouldn't have any problems. It is just expensive. Of course VIP is the way to go, but you have to have the money to be a baller with these. VIP communities and product sellers do not sell knock offs of any kind. So you better be ready to drop some serious cash just as the same with modding a car for performance.
Welcome. Good luck on getting the car. If you have any more questions on it let me know. The Toyota V8 engines are something I am into, and there aren't really many people on here who know much about them. I have tried to get info about them on here in the past, and most people don't seem to really know much about them.
I dont care what anyone says, IMO that car = pure seks
Hell ya man, thats car is beatiful, basically has the same body style just nothing mechanical wise. you know what i mean? Really diggin' the car , could be better.. Could find some other set of wheels. Maybe do something with the fenders, not really sure.
But yea still hella beatiful car !
Yea man i know, thats why specifically i put GS400 , gs300 sucks balls.
The car is nice, and Could be a good VIP car.
Yeah, they are ugly....can't be modded to be fast at all.....aren't reliable.....you are the most positive person on this entire board......and I don't have to pay my mortgage anymore now that Obama is in office too......(I can't figure out how to use smilies or I'd insert a giant "rolling eyes" uber sarcastic one right here.)
The car STOCK is extremely reliable with just general maintenance. The GS4 is nowhere near as popular, on the road, as the GS3 (which is the exact same car except for the drivetrain). The GS4 has many easy and affordable "mods", but it won't make it some kind of street killer. Most people start with intake/ecu and exhaust combo. From there, most move onto the suspension and brakes. After that, all that is left is "look" mods or ultra expensive custom performance mods. This is where the car gets really expensive in the mod world. The engine STOCK can handle very mild boost w/o any problems. If you get serious, then you gotta have deep pockets, patience, and committed. The powertrain is very popular in other parts of the world, so sometimes that is where you will have to source specialty parts for the big projects.
My suggestion, from experience, is to get the car and do the intake/ecu, exhaust, suspension, wheels, and mild body upgrades. The car is basically "stock" and will run awesome, sound awesome, and run for decades w/o ever giving you a problem. Be sure to keep up with ALL of the preventive maintenance and you will be more than happy. If you want to go nuts with it, I'll be happy to give you a run down on my personal experience for you to think about. Just be warned that it's not for the faint at heart or shallow pockets. Unfortunately for us, our cars are not anywhere near "mainstream" for mods, so a lot of those have to be full custom-made.
My .02
Good luck.
Thanks a lot Jaime! Your advice really helps man, i will be sure to come to you also when i get my GS400 hopefully. I'm not really into the GS300 but why is it more popular ? Is it because its a little bit cheaper? Engine? More easier to find? Anyways thanks for your advice, will hit u up. How long have you been owning your gs4?
They're very nice cars with plenty of support.
I had a GS 400 and have a 430. They are fantastic vehicles and have aged well with time. Back in 1998 they were the fastest automatic sedan. Today 0-60 in 5.7 is still solid and 1/4 miles are in the 14s. I modded my car and loved it, most suspension as the car handles good stock but IMO needs tightening up with TRD/Toms parts. Jaime's car is a beast. We both have BBS wheels
There is a huge aftermarket for them and some are even swapping in LS1s since its a pretty easy fit. I cannot say enough about this car. Here is mine. I change the grill a lot
My old 400. LOVED It.
Dumbest post of the year and its only March.
