Default 350z owners openion catback setup

Hello everyone, i am looking into getting a catback for my 350z. I want something deep in tone muscle sound ,that sounds good when you get on it, but not overly loud.

setups i have been looking at.

    STAINLESS CATBACK EXHAUST choice 1

I heard a 350 one time with the stock catback but with test pipes, and that thing sounded awesome, all while appearing stock!

you're more than welcome to listen to my G35 and my 350z.

    G35 has 2.5 Custom headerback + Headers
350z has Greddy EVOTT True Dual catback. Stock Cats & headers

    I love both of mine.

I'd vote for the Stillen catback. Nice sound, not too loud.

What pipe size should i go with for best airflow and sound ? i believe the stock pipe size is 2.4.. Most systems i,m looking at are about 3 inches.

True Dual, go for 2.5" each
    Single - 3"

Isn't choice 1 the HKS knockoff? The tips tend to rust, but for around $250 for a catback, you can't beat it.

just about droning and rattling, and having to mess witht he 02 sensors... its not really that bad, but if youre gonna buy test pipes, make sure they are good quality.

i heard the x02 before. Doesn't sound too bad at all. Fitment was off by a lil though, but nothing you can't fix.

If you have money go for HKS, i love how they sound. If your on budget....x02 is the way to go

droning is your exhaust NOT test pipes. and rattling is cheap resonated test pipes which say remove rasp and drone. which they dont do either. just test pipes that a pipe nothing more is the way to go. ive been in the VQ area for a very long time. built them up and torn them down. 650whp+ i know it all...

That looks like my boys 350z in the first pic. Same tires and exhaust. I'd go with the HKS. it sounds SOOO amazing. No back pressure though on decel, which is fine but I like the back firing and popping noise.

Also, I have something u might want, PMing u.

HKS is without a doubt the best sounding exhaust for the 350z.

    agree, agree, and agree.

Nothing's wrong with TP. I ran custom headerback on my G35 with Headers and mine doesn't have that much rasp compared to others with HFC + catback. It's all in the design of the exhaust.

X02 aren't bad exhaust. They copied HKS design because it works (reduce drone and rasp). HKS = higher pitch while X02 = deeper tone. X02's welds are also good. Nothing's bad about them. If anything, it's their mufflers and their quality vs HKS.

    Can't go wrong with either.

and you can go to summit and buy the magnaflow 2 in/2 out resonator to go with it and have ZERO rasp at all. Personally I think that setup is the best exhaust for a VQ35 motor.

I was comparing the HKS to the X02 where the HKS got a throatier and higher pitch tone than the XO2. It's HKS signature sound.

X02 doesn't drone as much as other true dual catback such as EVOTT or Injen because they copied the HKS's design with a parallel pipe.

depending on what year. no matter what you do with or with out cats the CEL will not come on. most 03-first half 04's will not come on. since the front 02 sensors where actual oxygen sensors but after mid 04 thye change front sensors to a/f sensors. aka wider reading sensors.
