By today's standards I think the domestics have Come a long way. Damn near any vette is mild mods from being a competitive track car.

It is all about power to weight, a crx with 250whp all motor would wax most domestics making 400-500whp on a small track. You get into things like road Atlanta and that track is too big and has too long a straightaway for the crx to keep up.
