Please inform your readers that bigger is not necessarily better. We have only seen 2-4hp increases when using toda B's or jun3's. Neither pass smog. Both require new valve train and in the case of Jun's, there is only a 3-4 degree margin of error before the valves grab each other and destroy the motor.

All mo most hi lift cams are not oversize valve frienly
and as for 3-4 degrees will destroy a motor with these kinda cams lol I've checked every setting on my adjustable cam gears and there's plenty of room lol

^All very true. But if your building a high compression, high reving motor, with head work and a great flowing intake and header, bigger is better Im also the type of person who thinks that if you have the wonderful attributes of Vtec, why not get the biggest cam you can get. Beats having to buy it later on down the road and its not going to effect daily driving anywhere near as much as my 242 duration .609" lift cam in my LS1.

To me the cam should be last on the list. I like to max out a stock shortblock with all the best boltons, then go for a cam swap and build the bottom end and port the head once money comes back around. I started looking at the Pro1's like most people, then said well the 2's will make more, then said ahh screw it might as well get 3's. Thats way on down the road for me though, I just like to plan ahead.

i did the exacted opposite the first thing i bought was my cam.Build around the brain of the motor a bottom end to simple the head is were all the power is going to be made without a good working head i might aswell be fucked lol.

i bought the JUN's and i was like i need at least 11.5.1 cpr to run these cams so i picked up the Mahle 11.5.1 CPR pistons. Knowing i wanted around 12.0.1 CPR i new i needed to deck my block and head. And i knew there was history of passing my local emissions with these cams where i am located.

buy next year i am going to be upgrading to a gsr head more compression so if i feel the need to rebuild another head i'll take into concideration some of the larger skunk 2 stuff or rocketmotor sports stuff
