    Default b18a all motor "pics finally added"

    here is my build then ill get to question.
    p75 head port matched to s2 im and 3angle valve job
    s2 im
    hondata im gasket
    crower valve train with 404's
    buddy club cam gears
    440cc injectors
    68 mm tb
    str fuel rail and fpr
    balanced and polished crank
    stock rods polished and shot peened
    block guard
    11lbs flywheel
    stage 2 clutch
    ctr crank pully
    arp hardware
    block bored 20 over
    4-1 race header 2.5" stright through exhaust

    the question is iv looked at 3 compression calaculators there all diff, looking for 12:1 cr. i have been told go with ptc pistons, i also been told p73 jdm pistons, give me imput because on the calc's there diff ranging from 11:1-13.5:1.any POSITIVE info would be great

    ya i have but im just mainly on a budget build and the pistons are all i have left and forged puts me alil over budget, but thanks

    tb no, injectors no, and ctr pistons no... and since your boring 20 over just run srp 10.5:1 pistons since they are common in that bore size. everything else you have there is close to my setup and for what it is moves...props for doing this build

    all piston brands are common in that bore size.

    I would save money on said parts and get some forged 12:1 pistons. Then you wont have to calculate your CR and you wont have to worry about weak pistons. MAHLE makes some nice b18 high compression pistons

    use jdm b16a pistons, p30's make more compression than jdm itr's but less than b16b's.
    11.7:1 at 81.5mm bore. stock injectors will work fine. Throttle body is iffy. 65 mm would be the largest I would go on a mild setup like this.

    ok so p30's put compression at 11.7:1 thats close to what i want any other suggestions as fuel pump and ignition?

    props for the build.. you'll definatly feel some pick wit the pr3 pistons...i was goin to do this build myself..still workin on mines tho....everyone these days just want to build a ls-v and call it a day or just slap a turbo on there motor...and think there hot shit...no one wants to do research , find specs and really build much now a days...some do..but some dont..good luck wit that bro..i'd like to see updates

    im figuring around 150-165 hp (trying to keep realistic numbers in mind) i already have a turbo lsv in makes also, but with this build its something not many ppl do, right now till i can up grade i have a hydro ls tranny but when i get funds ill get a lsd type r (atleast thats what i want). the reason i was wondering about ignition set up is because my car was acting funny when i had platium ngk plug in the car, i put ngk copper in it and ran great, the pulse star plugs (which are amazing in my other car) are platium. i checked both gaps on both plugs and it was same cap,rotor,and wires. do u think a accel coil or msd box would suffice? i would like more numbers around 180 but still wanna use 92 octain if any one has any more suggestions lmk

    don't get that crappy ACL or MSD ignition. Stock will work perfectly. Replace your plug wires or something also, just some ngk wires.

    Also what you don't need is the rods shot peened and polished, but ARP does recommend you get the big end re sized. I did per their reccomendation.
    Balancing is a good thing though, just make sure you have everything in the rotating assembly, well minus the clutch and flywheel for obvious reasons(out of balance possibly with the change of a clutch/flywheel selection). Just make sure you have your pistons,rings,crank gear, crank pulley and bolt and you should be gravy. GL with the build. It should go smoothly since its a really simple engine.

    ya it is a common size but those are real pricy lol and im deff not a high roller like most lol i have kids and wife so basic oem pistons will have to work till i hit the lotto lol!

    so starfire basically just balance and blue print the motor is what ur sayin?

    yep, the forged pistons like they are talking about won't fit on a stock rod anyways. Not without re bushing them and even then I don't know if they can because I don't own a machine shop. I just know that the Rs machine pistons are okay, just get the hole bored to them because they run a little big. The 81.5 mm piston I got was 81.5mm, not meant for an 81.5mm hole like most would do.

    ok i just finished my taxes and lets say im getting alot back the new question is that i was wondering about this with my 404 cams and me adding itbs

    Part #: BC0029
    STROKER KIT - Honda/Acura B18/B20, 95mm Stroke Crank, bRODS (5.394" w/ARP2000), Pistons, Bearings

    BC 4340 forged steel crankshaft (92mm or 95mm stroke).
    BC 4340 Econo or Pro Series connecting rods w/ARP 220,000 psi fasteners.
    CP aluminum forged pistons (any bore size, any compression ratio).
    5100 Series carbon steel alloy wrist pins. 9310 Series pin upgrade avail.
    Ductile iron plasma top rings, tapered second ring, low tension oil rings. Features aluminum buttons/rail supports (not spiral locks).
    ACL Race Series rod and main bearings included.
    Fully system balanced and ready to install.
    Rather than piece together your bottom end with a variety of mismatched parts, order a BC stroker kit that not only increases your overall displacement for more horsepower and torque, but also delivers strength and reliability using only the highest quality parts. Lightweight crank available (7 lbs less).

    Stock Specifications:
    B18A/B 81mm Bore x 89mm Stroke - 8.350" Block Height

    i want to use the 92mm stroke and ill be using a 81.5 or 82 bore
    ill probly use the 7lbs less crank too so what do you guys think???
