Default turbo ls/vtec.... should i go with 2.5 or 3 inch ehaust?

    Turbo setup:
    Gt3076r
    Peakboost ram horn manifold
    3" downpipe

Will an 2.5" be enough? Or will 3" be too much? Lmk what's your opinion.

On forced induction setups it is best to let the exhaust flow as efficiently as possible so a 3" would be your best bet.

I ran mine on a open pipe for a week....horrible horrible noise....but when WOT @8k folks heads would turn LOL. I have a Thermal 3" and I love it...pretty quite really unless under full boost.

the size of exhast really would depend on the number of horsepower that you are making and the type of bends created.if you are running less than 500 whp then a 2.5 inch exh. is plenty sufficient if it is mandrel bent.If you half to run crush bent piping, then run a 3 inch to compensate for the size difference along the crush bends.2.5 inch makes it easier to fit on the bottom of your car also. You really wont see the full potential of a 3 inch exhuast untill you reach upwards of 700 whp.

Also plan on running a straight through muffler to decrease backpressure from the exhaust.

Doesn't more backpressure equal more torque? I think you should go with a 2" pipe and I'll sell you my stock EG muffler

INSIGHTFUL DIALOGUE ANALYSIS: Actually, Hector, that is not what we call valet parking. Valet parking is where someone parks your car for you. You just pulled your car up to the front of the store and got out. We just call that parking.

^ Not always. I'm running 3" on my F22 with a T3/T4 and after coming from a 2.25" exhaust, and the torque increase scared the crap out of me.

3" turbo back (catless) on my boosted K20, it lost power on the dyno with a 2.5".....
