It's funny when people start making up info on subjects they don't have even have a clue about. LOL.
My SRT-4 was bought brand new back in 2005. Five months later, it was making 340+ whp 340+ wtq and was pulling 12.2 second 1/4 mile ETs and trapping 117+ MPH. Fast forward to October 2009 at Import Face-Off, my SRT-4 was still pulling 12.0 runs and trapping 118 MPH and that is with a 200 lbs. heavier race weight and 157,000+ miles on the odometer. My car is in the driveway now with 160,000+ miles on the odometer.
The only time my car was ever down was when my tranny broke and that was after 230+ runs at the drag strips. As much as I had beat on the car by that time, something was bound to break.
How is all that ↑↑↑ for reliability from someone who actually owns a SRT-4?
As for fuel economy, I travel 60 miles round trip to work and average 25-27 MPG. My commute is straight down Hwy. 316 if it matters. If you don't know that highway, it is full of traffic and traffic lights. I do admit that when I get off from work at 4 AM, the only obstacles are only the traffic lights. The road trips to California I make every year, my car averages 29-33 MPG. Fuel economy in a SRT-4 isn't bad at all.
All of this was accomplished with my car having a simple bolt-on turbo kit (Mopar Stage 3) and absolutely zero tuning. I don't even have a boost controller, a wideband controller, or a fancy-schmancy blow-off valve on my car. My car is as quiet as a stock SRT-4 when it blows off since I'm still on stock parts. LOL. Ask the guys at Mainstream, Zen, Lethal Injection, etc..., they know my car pretty well.
