Im in the same boat. I'd love to have a SUpra, but it's a 10+ year old car. Now the price wont go down on them very much or at all. But you have to dump some money in them to get their fat ass moving.

C5 Z06 has plenty of tq from the get go and cheap quick mods.

I'm looking for a Gen II Viper right now but that Supra would be so bad ass to have. It's really up to you man. Want to pay 20-30k for a car with 100k miles and 10-15 years old?

I'm thinking of maybe just buying a n/a mk4. Ive seen some around for sale for as low as 8500 and at that price I would just buy a gte and 6 speed motor and tranny. I don't really care about it being a original tt.

NO!!!! It is like 7 grand just to do a six speed swap cause its 6 grand for a new gtreg trans and 5 grand for a used one (which is really stupid), and u will also have to replace the N/A diff with a twin turbo diff which is almost another grand (which again is stupid) and then u gotta buy all ur clutch stuff and a new gauge cluster. I would just go 5 speed if u get one cause its soooo much cheaper cause is only like 700 bucks for a used gtreg 5 speed and u dont really have to buy the twin turbo diff.
