i have had no other car last as long and still perform as it did when it had 100k miles.

I've got a another I just have to mention.

The AJP8 "Speed Eight" was built for the TVR Cerbera and was the first engine developed solely by the company itself. They used to rely on other manufacturers' engines, such as the Rover V8. It's a 75 degree flat-plane crank V8...pretty much a racing engine. It made 360 bhp with 4.2 liters of displacement or 420 bhp with 4.5 liters. It was also very light for a V8, weighing only 267 lbs. Something funny I found out about the development of this engine...they engineered it to backfire loudly while the throttle was disengaged because they thought that was the sort of thing TVR owners would enjoy. Yea, TVRs really are ridiculous cars. Also, the engine looked like it was built by an alien. Difficult to find good pictures of it though. EJ, can you help me out? Hahaha.

This is the best I've got.

Just be open minded, If they said reliable I would say on V8's. Fords 5.0's are fucking the shit u can beat the crap out of them for well over 150K and most run strong still. But they just can't make the power as easily as the Chevy LS's can......

I don't think that the K20 has been around long enough to be proven. Yeah it works in swapped cars - but really is not a great performer in the intended chassis IMO. I know some people won't like that comment but oh well - LOL. But I guess it still can be people's favorite... nothing wrong w/ that.

4 Cylinder: The capable and VVTL-i equipped 2ZZ-GE, it was good enough for lotus.

    6 Cylinder:The always proven 2JZ.

8 Cylinder: The custom, and extremely cool Hayabusa V8.

H4 (I just like the 2.0L Subaru more, but there is nothing wrong with a STI at all):

I6 Diesel (It makes its V8 counterparts look bad on a daily basis, it's the best diesel on the market, IMO, even though I don't like what these engines come in):

I6 Gas (I wasn't going to post a gas contribution for the six cylinder section, but this picture hadn't come up yet):

V8 (I choose the 289 because it was Shelby's engine of choice, you get a model though):

    I6 FTW.

2jzgte, 1jzgte, and rb26dett are freakin beasts of motors. no need to elaborate on why. if i had to pick id go 1j, just cuz without it the 2jz would have never been baller.

the 4 banger- fuck a honda motor, Im sorry. 4g63 runs the 4cyl world IMO. close second is the sr20 because the stock bottom record for it is over 500. and a 600whp claim was made but no proof.

v8- small block chevy. Aftermarket probably would not exist if it werent for that motor. nobody can fuck with that.
