I don't think that the K20 has been around long enough to be proven. Yeah it works in swapped cars - but really is not a great performer in the intended chassis IMO. I know some people won't like that comment but oh well - LOL. But I guess it still can be people's favorite... nothing wrong w/ that.

6 cylinder- Technically the 13bt is a 6 cylinder
8 cylinder- any of the toyota UZ family (1UZ or 2UZ)
Yeah I beg to differ. I can name two 4 bangers on the top of my head that are more capable than a stock sr20, both engines being stock as well. One, of course the 4g63. People all over with Evo's make WELL over 500whp on a stock block daily driver car. I've also heard people make well over 600whp stock block but who knows how long that setup would last. The second, the F20c. Someone made over 700whp on a stock motor! Judging by those facts, I would think those motors are more capable than a sr20. Hell I even think an EJ25 is more capable than a sr20 but of course, these are just my opinions.Quote:

Have fun w/ the reliability issues of the 4g63. And before you say it - the ONLY people that don't agree that they are maintenance nightmares are people who have them under the hoods of their cars - LOL. They are NOWHERE near as reliable as the sr20. The 4g being able to handle boost is great - but have you seen one perform N/A duties? Prob not - b/c it's not really designed for that. The sr20 can do it all. They (4gs) do handle lots of boost... but they also spend lots of time on the jack-stand as well.Quote:

I do like both of your choices though. :) Seems as tho you are only thinking of boosted applications. I am looking at everything. Parts, pricing, aftermarket, OEM reliability, and versatility (NA and boost duites) etc.

the 4 banger- fuck a honda motor, Im sorry. 4g63 runs the 4cyl world IMO. close second is the sr20 because the stock bottom record for it is over 500. and a 600whp claim was made but no proof.
v8- small block chevy. Aftermarket probably would not exist if it werent for that motor. nobody can fuck with that.
