    Default Z wheel question

Question: I have 1986 300zx base model, and I want new wheels for it. Sounds simple but it isn’t, I go to actual wheel shops for specs of what I need to be hunting for, but all they do is call the manufacturer and the manufactures tell them "well that’s a hard fit"...and they tell me what might fit. All I want is 16" (preferably) or 17" that’s it. Can anyone tell me what I need to be looking for to ensure a proper fit and ride quality...p.s I’m on a budget

    Thanks

Find you car's bolt pattern, for example mine is 5x114.3, go online and start shopping for wheels...ask around on z forums about wheel fitment for z31s. I doubt anyone here has one so I would look zfrenzy, etc..

    http://www.az-zbum.com/faqs.shtml#basic14
    Tire size: 215/60
    Rim: 15x6.5
    Offset: +10
This website seems to have alot of FAQ'a answered about the Z31: http://www.az-zbum.com/faqs.shtml
    Bolt pattern: 4 lug bolt pattern-4x114.3, 5 lug-5x114.3 http://www.az-zbum.com/information.w...nd.tires.shtml
For a rim: Jus search ebay if stores are giving you grief, though it should be alot easier to find one now.
All info was found on google with 1 search, hope I was of some help lol

^x2 we all start somewhere. The turbo came with 16x7 stock, so those will fit. As far as the different offsets you can use and what you may need to make certain wheels fit, im still trying to understand all of that stuff myself, it so confusing, so I cant help you there lol but at least now your headed in the right direction. Are your wheels 4 or 5 lug?

your best bet for some cheap wheels will be a relipca mustang Cobra R wheel. I had some real ones on my car and they really set it off. The 86 300zx is very unique. The first year of widebodys, and the last year of the series 1 300zx. only one like it.

they are mostly T-tops. its rare to find a slicktop. Z31s are all about the wheels. if you find a wheel that compliments the car correctly you are set.

i dont remember the offset, they were 5x114.3 bolt pattern. thats an 86Z as well. mustang wheels from 94+ work. You may need spacers though.

do you think a 16x7 offset +37 would fit ...they dont say the backspacing. backspacing is what killed me on my last set, i belive the back space needed is a 4 1/2

Man don't be such an ass hole. The guy asked a simple question about his car. Not everyone comes out the box knowing every single thing about their car. Let's at least let people be able to ask questions on here without being harassed about it.
