    Default boosted d16z6

alright so i got a gsr im building for boost. but in my car right now is a z6. i love the gas saver, and want a little more fun out of it. I already have a ebay cast iron manifold with the wastegate flange on one cylinder, but im thinkin about blocking that off and running a internal wastegate turbo. maybe a T25 off a twin turbo 300z A/R 48. like this one. link
idk if this is a good turbo to use.

I just want this to spool quick, for a little more fun.

My power goals - high 100whp maybe a little over 200. This is my DD

    Budget - 800

    Good setup? Input?

sell the gsr you are building, and boost the sohc...... you won't have to buy axles, mounts, shift linkage, etc that goes with doing a b series swap..... d series motors/parts are cheap if anything messes up, and b series just flat out cost too much for the power you're trying to make.

If you still want to go b series, let me get your d16z6 shortblock, lol.....

I just had boosted d16z6. Just fuckin boost the d! Trust me it gets great mileage and I had 440 cc rc injectors. The power is plenty if you do it right. Boosted D's are badass. Do it. Mine was fast as shit. I'd eat 350z g35 and S2000

you should be able to get around 200hp with a t25, upgraded injectors, and a good tune. i'd do some internal work on the bottom end to a longer life.

with $800, eh, maybe. if you build you own kit and get hooked up on some stuff.

    bitch spools instantly pretty much.
and can meet your goal range pretty easy with a good tune.

I told jon to stop wasting money in that b-series and put some of that bread back in his pocket and make more power and torque on a d-series for the $ he is spending in the b not to mention still drive around and get 26-30mpg
I check sluts off my list like a maintnence man
I drive a low is3 just so it gives me a reason to drive super slow on these rough ga roads.

boost the d-series!!! Its wayyyyyyyy cheaper than swapping the b-series. after you swap you are still stuck will a motor under the 200 hp mark..... D-series ftw

I have a GReddy kit for a D Series that I have for sell. Made around 225 to the tires. All you would need is some form of engine management. D series boost is def the win! I have the 94 Integra with the boosted single and have run a 11.1 @ 130 and still drive it around on the street with no problems.

point proven. no need to go b series unless you wanna run faster than 11 seconds, other than that, d ftw, lol

Hopefully I can get a 10 out of it before the end of the year. If the track will hold the power should be able to get it done on a 22 inch tall slick. I had to pull a lot of power last Friday night in first and still went .04 sec faster than the previous best pass with 3 more mph. Remember, the transmission is still stock with an open differential and I am using stock replacement axles. This year I have definately been impressed with the D series!

D is soo cheap!! if the d is already there...just get some solid filled motor mounts(they like $120 for 3 of emm on ebay, they work) and a nice stg2-3 clutch, T25 on y7/y8 10-12psi makes like 190-205ish?? give or take some....but hey torque #'s are way better than any b-series ive personally seen seen...its actually porportional to the hp. im building my D, its cheap man...im aiming for 320-340ish and thats plenty enough for my front wheel drive street car...

The stock T25 from a 300z will be a little small for the Z6. You could make about 200whp but that will about max out that turbo. Also, the manifold you have prob has a T3 flange on it and you will need one with a T25 flange. The stock Z6 (with headstuds) can do 250whp no problem with a good tune. If you want a small turbo that is fun I would try to get a T25 from a SR20. As for the $800 budget that would be a little tight if you still have to get injectors, chipped ecu, and tuned.
