    Default Turbo exhaust

I'm hooking up my Kit on my Si and wondering what the ideal exhaust size would be? its a 18g greddy turbo for now but plan on upgrading it later on down the road... so 3"? 2.5"?
And im probably doing straight pipe. any problems with that?

Go with 3" bro especially if you plan to upgrade later, don't waste time or money. Thermal is allways GREAT!!!!!!!!!! HKS is as well if you can find it.

Your better off in getting a full exhaust system from companies like Thermal Research because the quality of it you cannot get at a local shop.
I got mine done at MS and they fucked it up. Told them how I wanted it and they did not do what I had requested then they were like well you should have told him in advance, in part I did and got screwed on the labor. A simple exhaust job turned into a complicated one so stay away from these people....my 0.02.
EK needs a new tune? baby needs more boost so a good tuner is needed....anyone?

3" for the downpipe back. Even 4" would not be a bad idea for the down pipe, especially if it is a internally gated 18g. Try to get one that is mandrel bends if you can. 3" downpipe back will support a LOT of flow.

I am using 2.5" custom mandrel bent aluminum exhaust. The downpipe is mild steel. Made 450 whp @21 psi and am running 24 psi and low elevens(look at signature). The whole exhaust weighs 7 lbs. It is on a d series. What size is your turbo outlet? Making everything work together is key to making good power. Here is a pic before we added the muffler(which is a custom fabbed aluminum piece also):

How much psi are you planning on running? You can go with 3" if you would like, but it is not necessary. For your set-up, 2.5" would probably be more than enough for what air that 18G can flow. As stated before, 450whp was put down using a 2.5" exhaust. 4" is ridiculous for an 18G turbo, do not do that. The pain of making it and the $$$ spent doing it will be a waste, when you can make the same power from a 2.5" exhaust. Again though it is up to you... but I believe 3" is not needed and 2.5" would be a better choice for overall performance for your 18G and engine.
