    Default Y8 Oil pump issues

After a solid month or so, after I spun a rod bearing on a freshly tuned motor, I did some research, and it looks like alot of folks have issues with Y series oil pumps at high RPMs. I was on another forum and there were a few options.

    1. Shim my Y8, or Z6 oil pump for a high flow rate
    2. Use a Z6 oil pump

Now, as far as the shimming goes, has anyone heard of this? and do you think it's a good fix for the issue? Should a Z6 oil pump do the trick? Some people even went as far as using a Z6 oil pump, and oil pick up, and pan, but they said it wouldn't allow for a dip stick, and that doesnt sound like a solid move for me.

Any positive advice would help. thanks in advance!

lots of people shim the pump, but I would just buy an aftermarket high volume pump. here is a link http://www.importperformanceparts.ne...umpsmitsu.html

Awesome. I read up on the TOGA, and there were mixed reviews, but it's look like my first option so far. Reps.

Lol, that's probably what I'm gunna do, cause shimming would be the move, but I don't have the porting equipment. Plus, that TOGA is a little too much money for my budget.

I dont usually shim them. More pressure = more drag on engine which causes hp loss which increases at rpm. Even on my Hot Rod I never shimmed the pump. You can do it but check the oil pressure first to see what you have.
