the old school jap car trend is weak sos
i likem all...wanted a 240 last yr...but they kinda gettin played out...
riding low is like a religion
I picked hondas though cause I hate them with a passion, I hate everything about them.
But the VTAK can never lose!!
Mine's the red one.
Also I do own a Honda now lol. Also what's up with VWs with every panel a different color (on purpose) and honda's having their engine bay painted a different color than the car. Not a fan.
i've never understood the logic in the multicolored vw's, that's been around ever since i started driving in the late 80's, but it may have been around before then. i guess the honda thing with the engine bay might have something to do with it costing less to paint the exterior only than having to paint exterior and remove the engine to paint the bay to match.
That most likely means the car was teal from the factory but the owner decided to paint the exterior white while leaving the 'invisible' panels stock color. (cost savings)
If you check the door jams and the underside of the trunklid, those parts will probably be teal as well.
As for the VWs, apparently some of'em came stock that way.
I'm a Ford guy though so what do I know.
Mine's the red one.
Prime example of going too far.
I just stretched 175s Continentals on a 7.5 inch rim...that junk was crazy scary. I can't even begin to think of the stress side walls get with these mad stretches. Told the dude this aint right...he promptly ignored and said everyone else was doing it.
My vote...stretch trend. But VWs get it on the poll.
that vdub looks fucking stoopid son
the dub owners are pretty annoying since they think they are incredibly superior to anything japanese. then they put staggered rims on heavy ass fwd cars as if they didnt understeer bad enough when stock.
wasn't vw's slogan years back "FukenPuken"?
you should have asked him if everyone else was sucking cock, would he do it too? if his answer is yes, put him to work down on ponce and rake in the money.
Ive never spray painted a 240 but it does seem to be the "trend"
im tired of all these kids with 240's thinking they can drift and for those who have drift ready 240s trying to sell 240sx's at a high price just cause a movie made RWD popular again.....that is GAY!
it's the same as when the first of that movie series came out, within a month the population of modified civics multiplied like a horde of rabbits on a fuckfest after eating a lifetime supply of viagra.
basically, if a real popular movie had modified geo metros, you'd see them rise from the grave too. damn, i just gave away my next project, oh well. anyway, the younger generation tries so hard to emulate the things that they see in movies, music videos, and such.... what can you do?
I am tired of all of these self-loathing threads. This website is called importatlanta, but all I ever see is people hating on the fact that we drive various imports. People need to stop hating on one another's cars and try to be positive. Why all of the hate for one another?
G37s 6MT/coupe
Why all the hate? It really isn't that hate, I just don't fucking like it. I don't watch movies I don't like (example Con Air), and I don't listen to music I don't like (Emo shit and this new bubble gum rap shit). Make sense? If I don't like your car and you ask me about it or post pictures I will tell you. If I like it then I like it. I do believe that any car has the potential to look attractive or better than stock, this poll is pointed towards the general population of the said car owners.
i love 240's but i dont like the way ppl have missmatching colors and body kits on them, looks ricey to me....240's are nice especially when they have the silvia frontends..painted correctly, silvia parts, badges, etc.
As a 240 owner it's equally annoying to find a rust free shell (my car is 18yrs old) Spend (rounding up)...
1k on a Silvia front end
1k+ on suspension
3k SR20DET motor
another 3k rebuilding it
1k in wheels and tires
Now I've left out other things like a bigger turbo, painting the car, upgrading the brakes, exhaust, boost controller blah, blah, blah. Sorry if I won't sell it for 2.5k
w0rd.
looks very clean and nice, i wish mine looked as good as that one.
im also a 240 owner mine being 17years old. luckly mine was a fully running KA in great condition for 1k wen i bouight it. but ive spent nearly 6k for my 2j swap and looking at a few grand in suspension! when i finish my build i'd prolly spend near 10k if not more! so definetly not letting it go for cheap! srry!!
the stretch on the vdub serves a purpose. to be able to slam the car on some wide ass rims without major scrubbing. it might be to the extreme but every bit of clearance count. if it had the regular sized tire, it wouldnt be that low
what happens to those wheels if it hits a pothole or something?
As a VW driver, I don't get the whole stretched tire thing either. At the same time how many of those do you see driving around the Atlanta area. When you think about quantity of cars you see with over the top mods, VW shouldn't even be on the list.
i'm not a fan of vw's but to each his/her own. although, i really thought the vw commercials were hilarious... v-dub representing deutschland !!! time to unpimp ze auto !!!
