Hell, regular VW parts are expensive (for watercooled at least) and with the Porsche brand on it I'm not surprised you got rid of the 914.

Air cooled isn't very cheap either.

I mean for Porsche it's not expensive, for me, and it being my only car, it was a bitch.

For air cooled it depends on who you buy from. I've replaced a ton of seals, hardware, mounts, etc. on my Beetle and I've only spent about ~$150 so far.

As for the second part thats why you should get a DD that you can drive every day without worrying about it and then put all your effort into another car.

Yeah but this isn't a Beetle, and Beetle parts don't all work.

I don't want two cars, I DD my girlfriends car sometimes, but can't everyday, plus I hate having a project. I only like to race, I hate working on the car.

I asked him to trade for a DSM, he said it needs to be a high HP car.

Next time you see him ask him how he managed to flash the ECU.

LOL I guess double the power he makes isn't high enough. I told him I was running 15 lbs and him and his buddies looked like they busted nuts.
