I run Hawk HP+ pads (moderately aggressive pads for a street car) and if I paint my calipers (which I do when I want the car to look pretty), the paint gets eaten away in a few weeks...or after one track day. I used the same paint on my GF's calipers and almost 2 years later they are still glossy black because she is running the OEM ceramic pads...so don't blame the paint.
