I dont see y he should save, unless he wants to of course. Yeah there are better platforms,but thats what tuning is about, taking what you have and making it better. If it wasnt then there would be no Honda scene now would there? I dont know if you still have one, but based on your sig and profile you have a 92 SHO, and im sure at one point you have thought about making it fast. You may or may not have gone through with it, but im sure you have thought about it, and no one thinks twice about that car but that what make tuning fun, shocking the hell out of people. Dont discourage simply b/c its a platform you dont have full knowledge of or dont like for whatever reason. Ever heard the phrase "better bang for your buck"? Yeah the guy's brother could make it fast, but he would have to spend a whole lot more money to do so and probably sacrifice reliability. One_Bad_SHO has a roughly 600WHP SHO (if I remember correctly), but he has a good platform and the resources to build it properly and reliably.

Honestly, tell him to save his money. He could make the Maxima fast, but he could make something else much faster, enjoyable, and reliable for less money.
