Haha, I just read the stipulations for the car. I thought it was just a car to build to promote the company. I really want to build a texas mile car too!!!! Just dont have money for it.

Obviously the C6/C5 is a very popular choice for that, and would move you up the clientele ladder. As I stated before (I think) Vette owners are sort of finicky. There are alot of new blood vette owners out there that companies like Vengeance have taken advantage of, but there again, they came from building GM products at a top level before they were Vengeance.

But...since you want to do something of an all around car, and the 10' Camaro is probably the hottest thing going right now I stand behind that. If it were my company and that was my goal, I'd build a 10' camamro with and LSx 427 with a big single kit that could be marketed as an upgradable street to race kit. Something like a T76-T88 street kit and a large T6-1xx for the race kit.

I know I know, twins spool faster for the street. Well, one company just last week had an open house with their TT kit for the 10' and offered the first 3 customers free instalation and the first 10 kits at $1500 off. All the other companies ordered their 5th gens last October and there is already a slew of parts for it pertaining to power. Long tubes, cat-backs, CAI, TVS2300 kits, and the aformentioned TT kit. Some suspension mods (like lower control arms to control wheel hop) and a single turbo kit have not been mentioned or developed yet from what I have read. Something like that would also showcase Dan as more of an engineer than just a builder/tuner as well.

You can always purchase a body in white from GM ($7000), LSx block ($2500) and build from there. Only downside is they are not streetable. Every one is up in arms about it being so heavy too, but in reality its around the same weight as the GTO's were. Sorry for the book If you need someone to make any CNC parts Im your guy

Thanks for the post. Great input!!!! We have been talking to a few of these companies about bodies in white, but like you said, you can't street them.

We also aren't afraid of a single turbo!!!! Dan has been saying twin, but if it turns out to be cooler, single, I'm sure he will do it.

Once again thanks for the input. PM me where you work and I might need to take you up on the CNC stuff in general.

Sorry, late to the game. I've been out of town. I voted CTS-V but I do like the Genesis suggestion. I think its time for us to have a V8 shop car. We have been working on them for a while now, wouldn't mind the noteriety for it.

One thing to think about on the Mustang though is the new motor that will be in the 2011. You might be able to get in one of them really early and be one of the first with a TT kit for it. Not to mention it is the lightest of all the new "muscle cars". IDK when it will be released vs your time frame so that might be an invalid argument. Plus if you want in with the GM crowd, a Ford is not the place to start.

That's what I like to hear, intelligent input with a rational explanation.

Are the "bodies-in-white" strictly forbidden to being titled or could you do some sort of kit-car loop hole?

Put a twin turbo 427ci LSx in a 2011 Mustang. That will get you international attention in no time. :boobies:

    Cool

of course Jenson has the best post in the whole thread, lol.

IMO, if you're doing it to pull in business then maybe a cts-v or new camaro would be the ticket. the g8 gxp would be nice but well there won't be a lot of them being sold next year.

but your bread and butter people will be the lsx crowd, imo. not a lot of cts-v owners out there that want to do more than bpu...

Personally I would love to see battleground build a SC300.

Life begins at 6000 RPMS.. You will notice an audible change in engine noise, large increase in acceleration and any female passengers will immidiately start to remove their clothing.

If you were looking to get into the Euro game I have an 09 Audi S5 I would offer up. No one has been able to figure out how to do FI on that motor yet...well MTM has for a $40k kit. Perfect car to research on, and an untapped market as of yet.

However since its not a choice, I would go with the CTSV

Im sure there is probably some way around the "body in white" as a kit car loop hole. I dont know exactly how that all works but Im told you can pretty much get away with anything. I know we used to register some Panoz Roadsters as MG's back in the day before they were crash tested and certified. So if you bought an old 3rd-4th gen and then convinced the DMV you upgraded everything on it to be a 5th gen but just left that little section of firewall with the Vin. Sounds like it would work.

Sounds like the stang it is! That new motor plus the new styling should make that car sell better than the Camaro and Challenger combined. Then theirs hints that the Eco-boost V6 will make it in the lineup as well. We too have our blue oval connections, so we have a 2010 coupe and convertible. My wife had an 05 V6 and I have to say the new styling/interior is alot better and more appealing. Couple all that with the return to the solid axle rear end and you have the last true muscle car imo. 400hp and a 3600lb curb weight should put the 2011 stang at the top potentially, Im sure you know what happened back in 99 with those Cobra's. Hopefully that doesnt happen again.

I'd say an all black c6z. Shouldnt take much to show the LS heads that the ZR1 isnt king.... Larger displacement in the z06 and a turbo should take care of the power department. Suspension and brakes shouldnt be THAT hard either. The new ACR viper..... Its a sick machine, the styling and its performance are incredible. The car is king of the ring for christ's sake. But its not going to bring you much business I wouldnt imagine.

I check sluts off my list like a maintnence man
I drive a low is3 just so it gives me a reason to drive super slow on these rough ga roads.

Sorry it was really late when I posted that, The S5 is essentially for sale. I understand you are going to build a shop owned car. I meant offer it up for you guys to buy since they are hard to come by IF you were looking to get into the euro game. Not offer it up for you to build it then give it back to me.

    Lexus ISF

The car is already a show stopper in my book, and well its got a v8... We've seen what American V8s can do, there is no doubting pure American muscle. I wouldn't say that the v8 is uncommon with Japanese automakers, but its not as dominant as it is here on this side of the pond. I'd like to see what this v8 is all about, open it up, dissect it, rebuild it and then put it to the test. Lets see just how well there muscles hold up.

Oh cool I wasn't trying to be rude, but you don't know how many pM's I have gotten with the "offer". I felt the need to clear it up after several mentions in this thread in addition to the PM's.

Yeah Tracy I got this BMW and this engine capable of 700whp, you can put your stickers on it if you turbo it with a GT30R or GT35R.

im tired of the bs with the gtr. yes, the 500 is a great ride becasue of the legendary history but i dont believe in what they have made them this go around. the z06 would be cool but once again. they are a dime a dozen in my oppinion with there power, seen them all day long on youtube. the cts-x would be kick ass but also for resale value, the market for that car with 1k hp would be extremly hard to find a buyer for. but once again, great car. the viper... i believe is played out like lambo doors. but now if you were to do say a RAM 1500 SRT-10 would be bad ass... 4 door. put a supercharger or tt's on the truck with a viper motor and maybe even a 2 inch body lift being able to somke vets and shit... that would be extremly impressive to me. but as for my pick the is-f. deffinatly go getter. v8 japanese motor. those have such an amzing look to them but i believe that they are underpowered to the look and sleek styling and interior is unbeatable. plus i think that for resale money, you would be able to stay probibly where you would want to.

as much as I like the 2010 maro for the amount of notoriety it will gain your shop, the CTS-V will/should win out. They are simply baller-tastic!

A genesis V8 would also be nice, but from a business aspect, you will want a powerful vehicle that will offer drool-worthy appeal, but at the same time, move up your level of clientele. That being said, I'd recommend you do a g37.

ninja edit....I'd also like to add M5 to the list. I'd love to see one of those with forced induction. I think it would bump your clientele up a few notches, retain the ballerific status like the CTS-V and be just exotic enough to be nice.

Every single performance part and or modification it has was made in a factory somewhere.

Someone just emailed Dan last week to ask if we would trade our Subaru for his CTSV (right after we sold it). God hates us.
