Default Batlground: Custom Intercooler and Piping

We started this project on Mon. We took a Garrett intercooler core (14 x 22 x 2.75) and fabricated the end tanks, inlet/outlet tubes, associated piping, and mounting tabs for a customer. This intercooler fits behind the bumper beam and requires NO TRIMMING of the bumper cover.

Just call the shop to get the correct quote. It's easier to get a hold of someone that way.

Actually we are doing a custom set up for an IS300, that will be 2 cores stacked so inlet and outlet are on the same side.

Costs will vary based on size and application. If you would like a quote please call or email.

Weird. Now that I don't come to the shop, I don't know all of this stuff. What does 2 cores do? Make it cooler (as in cold not kool dude) or sumpin?

Mostly to acquire the shape and size you need, and as Brandon said it's enabling the inlet and outlet to be on the same side in a certain place.

This is two Iveco truck intercoolers that were joined together then welded up with custom end tanks. Total size is 42.5" x 9.8" x 5.5".

2 cores = Twice the volume and surface area.

Twice the volume and surface area = cooler charge = bigger pressure drop = more power = maybe a bit more lag (minimal)

    This is common sense Tracy

2 smaller cores added together could be the same as one big one, depending on fin arrangement pressure drop could be minimal. you have to weigh which is going to be worse, the pressure drop and friction from more elaborate piping bends or more core which also causes the same. depending on quality of cores it might be smarter. we shall see

That and I'd be worried about something hitting it! Would suck to have to replace it because of a piece of tire or whatever!

Unfortunantly they are front to back. I couldn't imagine attempting to weld an intercooler core side by side! I'm 99.9% positive there would have to be a small tank in-between joining the two if someone were to try.
