Thread: 1993 RX7 Price

    Default 1993 RX7 Price

I just want to know how much I can get out of this car. It's a 1993 RX7 Twin Turbo, Silver with Black Leather, 84,000 Miles, one owner, garaged, recent paint job because the paint was fading but mind you this car is at least 16 year olds. Oh and not that cheap $500 paint. He paid $2000 for everything to be done professional, and best part unmolested. Stock everything. Heck if he sells the car he's including the Stage 3 clutch and Tokico Shocks and springs that he didnt install. Never got to.

I hear at least $15000 and upwards but not sure.

    I'd say a solid $17k, maybe more.

15 to 17K depending on how well it runs and what service records the owner has. Proper maintenance on these is what prevents them from blowing motors at 60k miles like you hear so much. Also is it stock? 84,000 miles is a lot of miles for even a lightly modded FD, they only seem to be completely reliable in stock trim, it's when people start changing things, overheating causes increased wear and then -BLAM- that's where the bad rep for rotaries comes from.

EDIT: I missed the unmolested part, yeah a good 17 or maybe even 17.5k with service records, hovering around 16.5k without them.

^^ Yeah, I drew a frame of a man running on each fan blade. That is him running at idle

    IMO nowhere close to 17k.

Sure it's stock and hopefully not molested but 80k+ on the original engine? Those apex seals are surely on their way out. I'd say 13k for the common silver on black FD

$15k at the most but it would probably take a while.

3rd gens are hard to sell nowadays. Unless you price them cheap.

He took well care of the RX7. Every OEM part has been replaced and recently had serviced. He knows that you have to take it to a specialist and knows about the seals and what not.

Having owned one which I loved, I would never pay more than around 11.5k +or- 1k for a stock one that has never had the seals replaced. That way I could get the seals and a nice street port done on it. Just me though. I know lots of people will pay more. And thats only for a 93.

hard to see that FD getting 17K out of it, unless stupid clean. I am gonna be asking $20k for my 94 Fd with 29K miles on it. It's getting a new paint job right now from Wagonwerks, a $2k job. I already spent more than $2k on servicing the engine, and then i am looking to get about $20k out of it. Start with 15K and nego down to 13K....about right price.

My uncles 94 with 30K on it had 3 people offering 20-22,000$ for it.

If the car is original and well maintained with records, put it at $19,000 OBO

The FDs going for $15k-17k are RAGGED OUT.

The fact that it is a '93 will hurt the value. I'd say you'd be lucky to get 15k out of it. I'm thinking it should fetch for the 12-14k given the fact that it's a '93 and it has high miles.

I would say somewhere between $14-16k, which would be giving it an extra $2-3k since it is "unmolested". If it had less than 50k miles, I would say $17-18k would be obtainable, but at 84k miles, I just find it hard to see getting more than $14-16k for it right now. Maybe last year, but now that Obama took an already shitty ecomony and has made it even worse, most people don't have $20k to put into a 16 year old RX-7. I love these cars and have come VERY close many times over the years to owning one. I always back out in the end because I can never find one that is unmodified and has low miles.

Good luck selling. These are unique cars that have always interested me. If you can't find a buyer by the new year, let me know. After the new year it's bonus time and I may be looking for another project.

    What he said.

A '93, even with that low of mileage, I would say if he started at $15k OBO, he would probably end up getting only $13k for it at most...and that's to a collector.

Still sounds like a very nice car. Silver was a fairly rare color. If it's in excellent condition, then the $12k-$14k range is what it would really be worth.

I'd say $12.5k for that would be a quick sale on RX7club.com
